Tutorial: Step by step

Step 1 Sony Xperia Tablet Z

Characteristics:

Dimensions: 17.2 x 26.6 x 0.7cm
Weight: 495 g.
Display: 1920x1200 pixels, 10.1 inches LED.
Memory: 16/32 GB + microSD, 2GB RAM.
Processor: quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8064 1.5GHz, Adreno 320 GPU.
Front camera : 2.2MP.
Rear camera : 8MP.
Battery: Standard, Li-Po 6000 mAh.
Operating system: Android 4.1.

Step 2

To start disassembling, as always, remove the SD card first. At the bottom of the tablet, we will find the cover that covers the card reader. Open the lid and lightly press the card to be ejected.

Step 3 Take off back cover

The back cover of this tablet is attached. With the help of a pick and a spatula we will take it off. If necessary, using a heat blanket or a hot air gun, we could apply heat to soften the glue.

Step 4 screws and components of the motherboard

To remove the motherboard we will have to disconnect the components connected to it as well as the screws that hold these components. In this step we disconnect and remove the rear camera and the flex with audio connector and ignition button.

Step 5 Disconnect components

Now we remove the screws that hold the plastic module with volume pushbuttons and disconnect it to remove it. We will also disconnect the flex with magnetic load connectors and the interconnection flexes.

Step 6

Now we will remove the USB charging connector. We remove the Phillips screws (PH # 00), the shield, the support, we disconnect it and we can remove the flex.

Step 7 Removing the motherboard

With all the components disconnected and the screws removed, and we can take off the base plate of the chassis.
