Tutorial: Step by step

Step 1 Remove screen

We started by heating the screen at about 60ºC for about a minute, to soften the adhesive. With the hot screen, we introduce a flat tool between it and the frame. Sliding it around the contour we will take it off.

We will take care in the left part and in the inferior part, since we can damage some flex.

Step 2 Disconnect screen

Remove the shields covering the connectors, levering and releasing the notches that hold it. Then we disconnected the screen to be able to move it away.

Step 3 Remove heatsink

First we remove the central adhesive that covers one of the screws. Then we removed the six Torx T5 screws. Now we remove the processor shield to remove another four Torx T5 screws and remove the heatsink.

We will be careful not to touch the thermal paste to avoid staining the base plate as we could damage it.

Step 4 Remove internal casing

Now we remove the four Torx T5 screws that hold the housing and disconnect the flex with microphone and sensor to be able to move them away.

Step 5 Right speaker

To finish, we disconnected the loudspeaker from the motherboard, removed the two Torx T5 screws that still hold it and disengaged it.
