Tutorial: Step by step

Step 1 Gigaset Tablet 10'' (QV1030)

Before starting, make sure the tablet is off.

Step 2 SD card

Remove the SD card.

Step 3 Back cover

To open the back cover we will use the "pizza cutter" opening tool. Just go around the contour by pressing lightly on the joint between the lid and the chassis. You will hear several "click" as it is released.

Step 4

Separate the back cover.

Step 5

Disconnect the battery from the motherboard.

Step 6

Take off the adhesives from the metal support, specifically those that have a padded shape and also, a part of the antennas are also glued and prevent the battery from being removed.

Step 7 Battery

Remove the battery attached to its metal bracket, attached to the rest of the tablet by 8 Phillips screws.

Step 8

Unplug and detach the display data flex on the motherboard.

Step 9 screen

Remove the adhesive covering the connector located on the touch screen data flex.

Step 10

Disconnect the flex that joins the digitizer circuit with the motherboard.

Step 11

The screen is attached to the chassis by a strip of adhesive that runs all the way around.

To detach it we will apply heat to soften the adhesive and to peel off easily.

We suggest 2 methods:

  1. Hot Glass (Recommended): Heat blanket for microwave (See instructions).
  2. Hot air nozzle: Incuded in the SMD welding stations.

Step 12

While holding the screen with a suction cup, insert a prong between the glass and the plastic frame.

Little by little, run the contour with the prong detaching the adhesive.

Put thicker tines as a wedge to prevent re-sticking.

Step 13

Finally, remove the screen, helping with the fingers to take off the inner shell.
